BIOGRAPHY

    Hailing from Montclair State University, Gail Lou is an acclaimed performer, musical director and vocal coach.  Originally from Vaux Hall New Jersey, Gail is no stranger to the stage and has performed in theater pieces most of her adult life.  She has appeared in: “Mama I Want To Sing” (Off-Broadway), “Doubt” (regional production,  as Mrs. Muller), “Crowns” (regional production, as performer and musical director) and “Tommy” (regional production, The Acid Queen) to name a few.  Her vocal performances in the recording sector include “Another Day” - Bobby D’Ambrosio, Producer, and “You’ve Got The Vibe” on Dance Baby Records.  Her background vocal credits include R&B, Gospel, Jazz and Classical genres.
    Gail Lou has been working as a musical director throughout the tri-state area for over 20 years.  She has musically directed for companies such as Crossroads Theater, Pied Piper Children’s Theater, Bronx Science High School, Rutgers Summer Acting Conservatory, Together in Dance, The Theater Project, The Garage Theater Group and others.
    In addition Ms. Lou has created several of her own pieces, including a one woman show titled “Billie”, about the legendary artist Billie Holiday (co-written by Michael Bias) and she wrote the book and lyrics for an R&B musical titled “Light and Sweet: An American Tea Opera” ( music composed by Shawn V. Lucas ).  Her children’s musical “7 Good Ways” featured two original pieces that received highest honors in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, as well as a Parent’s Choice Award.
    Gail Lou also spends much of her time as a top-line writer for Dance, R&B and Gospel songs for other artists.
